1998 with the single "poker face". Her debut album, "A Song for XX", reached #1 on the Oricon charts and sold over one million copies. Since then
Ayumi has released countless number one singles and albums. Ayumi is also the all-time 2nd best-selling artist in Japan and the highest selling solo

xoxo, so the latest news are that she updates her TeamAyu blogs daily and writes about concerts
she feels very happy now and everyday gets thouthands of letters and toys from fans :)
she won't paticipate in a-nation 08 even though it's her anniversary and avex's :(

I have a feeling it is actually confirmed. When I was looking up Kumi and her surgery, Ayu kept popping up too and the way it was worded made me think
it is confirmed. Or its one of those things that everyone knows but its not come from her mouth

for the future ~ first of all let's not bash Ayu here okay, I know such threads which are created for bashing only and I hope this one will be good
and without it
I just know how many Kuu fans hate Hamasaki-san and say smth bad...
the other thing - Ayu hasn't admitted surgery and avex left no comments, I'm ayufan for 10 years, so please somehow try to believe what I say :D
the rumours about surgery are floating through her whole career and none of them are true or not true
the quote posted is a complete lies
I have seen her young at 16 age in her old films and her eyes are as big as they are now
and if they look a way too big believe it's photoshop
the last thing....actually Hamasaki has impacted Japanese pop culture more than Kuu...

There was no bashing, it was a simple observation. Her eyes are huge, thus sparking speculation about surgery. All I did was research the matter and
posted what I found. There are loads of people, Ayu fans included who all say that she has had surgery. I'm just saying the photos of young Ayu look
dramatically different to what she is now, something I doubt good make up could achieve.
This is a similar conversation we had about Kumi earlier, and we all love her obviously.
And lastly, I never said Kumi impacted Japanese pop culture more than Ayu, I was just stating my opinion.
Surely you must realise from my previous posts that I do actually like her music these days?

she was a trend-setter and is absolutely an icon of fashion
besides, she has really influenced such subcultures as ganguro in Japan
she has made important some aspects of fashion like the nailart, accessories, haircut & make-up;
she made foxtails fashionable
she made leopard obsession
she made military style trendy & popular
for some time she has repeteadly won such things a Best Jeanist etc every year but then refused to take them
she has changed her image from girly cute - to casual, romantic, natural, sporty, military, sexy and now elegant & classic
because of trendy image she endoresed many companies and every month has a lot of new CMs during 1999-2003 and also commercials
and of course she was the 1st to have such absolutely hugeeeeee promotion and concerts
fairyland, JEWEL & my name's WOMEN are among the expensievest videos ever made in the world and she's the only non-American in the list
and remember her symbol 'A'.....
not counting the list of numerous awards
her general signs are big eyes, nailart, big heels and huge sunglasses
of course now Ayu's no longer the main icon of Japanese music industry - there are a lot of talanted artists as they j-pop industry is well-developed
now
it's believed that Kuu is a substitute for Ayu...
and I can agree as she has voice & potential, besides, her promo for 2006 was absolutely amazing & as huge ;)
